THE FIRST MEETING OF THE UZBEK-PAKISTAN BUSINESS COUNCIL HELD

It is known that, at the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, on July 15-16, 2021, a conference “Central and South Asia: Regional Connectivity. Threats and Opportunities ”will be held at the highest level. This is a major event, important not only for the development of our country and region, but also for the entire Asian continent. This conference is aimed at putting forward current initiatives aimed at achieving a high level of cooperation, strengthening political and economic integration ties and developing specific mechanisms.

Today, on the eve of the conference, the 6th meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the 1st meeting of the Uzbek-Pakistani Business Council were held.

The issues of further development of trade relations between the two countries, implementation of new projects in such important areas as industry, transport and logistics, agriculture, tourism were discussed.

In this regard, the holding of the first meeting of the Business Council of the two countries was also of great importance.

The reason for this is that it was attended by members of the governments of the two countries, heads of chambers of commerce, representatives of large companies and entrepreneurs.

Within the framework of the meeting, B2B meetings and tête-à-tête negotiations between representatives of Uzbek and Pakistani business were organized.

In particular, representatives of the BMB Trade Group took part in the forum.

In this forum, issues of establishing and developing cooperation with government officials and businessmen responsible for the economy, agriculture and tourism of Pakistan were discussed.

In particular, the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the company Bekzod Mamatkulov met with the Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Economy of Pakistan Muhammad Yakub Shaikh.

In the spirit of sincere and mutual trust, the guests expressed great interest in the activities of our company and noted important proposals for cooperation.

In turn, representatives of the company exchanged views with Pakistani entrepreneurs on the implementation of projects in a number of areas.

Following the meeting, the parties reached agreements on further cooperation in promising sectors of the economy, establishing export-import operations.
